Shot Myself In The Foot

Or in the rear, depending on how you want to look at it :( What this means is that, my main meals had all the components for a good 'on program' eating day, however I completely messed up in the snack department. The first thing that threw me off, was that stinkin book, Twilight! It was so good, I had to finish it this morning. So I lounged around all morning reading and didn't get around to breakfast or working out until way late. I ended up just having a slice of pumpkin cranberry bread and an orange ...

I decided to save working out for later. I was even debating on bagging it altogether today! Shocking, I know! It seems that if I don't "just do it" in the morning, I can easily talk myself out of it later! I did end up doing about 35 half -hearted minutes on the elliptical.

Anyway, lunchtime rolled around and I went with a Health is Wealth Chicken Free Patty on an Arnold Sandwich Thin with lettuce and a smear of TJ's red pepper spread. I was in the mood for lots of crunch, so I had carrots and a serving of Kettle Baked Potato Chips. Not bad for 5 POINTS...

Then came, TOM. I know that is TMI; sorry :0! I knew that things may go downhill from here because I was feeling 100% munchie and I had not many Weekly Allowance Points left. I thought maybe I should make some popcorn for volume and saltiness craving, but I went against my initial instinct and had a Weight Watchers Berries and Cream Yogurt with 3/4 c. Puffins for 2 POINTS...

I also had a cup of coffee and then had about 200 snacks!!! Okay, not 200, but A LOT! Way more than I have POINTS for. It was a bad scene. It's very embarassing to admit to all this, but I am trying to be as honest as possible in documenting this weight loss journey. I wish I could say I eat perfectly and on program all the time, but there are times I am just WAAAAAY out of control. I was semi-aware of what I was doing at the time. Sometimes, though, it almost seems as if I am in a trance; moving from pantry to fridge, munching and munching. Then, I become too far gone to care and I just finish it off. I snapped out of it at dinner. I planned some chicken cutlets, baked sweet potato chips, broccoli and 1/2 garlic roll. Back to "healthy", right???

No dessert tonight! Not even sounding good at this point. I do this dumb thing every once in a while where I'm almost to my next milestone (this time it's only 1 lb. from a 70 lb. loss) and I end up going overboard with eating which makes me miss the target. Ugh. So frustrating! But, this is a journey. I know I'll get passed it. I'll refocus and I'll get there. Just maybe not this week :( Boo:(

5K Saturday and Pizza Revenge

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday! I woke up a little slow; my cold seems to have surfaced. It's mild, but I was still slow going. My first thought was no way am I exercising today, but as I got up and moving around, I realized that I didn't feel as badly as I thought. I donned the sneakers and headed to the treadmill for another 5k Saturday! This was my second time and I was able to run without stopping again! I even beat my time from last week by 3 min.; I went from 61 min. to 58 min! I felt really good afterward. Depending on what I have going on, I may try it again tomorrow morning!

After my run, I had some breakfast of 3/4 c. Puffins, 1/2 c. high fiber cereal, 4 sliced strawberries and 1 c. Soy Slender...

I was craving lots of fruit today and I actually decided on what fruit I wanted before what I would have for the main part of my lunch! I went with a ham wrap with lettuce and tomato, orange slices, grapes and 1/2 oz. Kettle Baked Potato Chips. An altogether yummy 5 POINT lunch...

My peanut butter cravings surfaced again and I also wanted some yogurt for a snack, so I put them together. This was an interesting combo! I used 1/2 c. plain yogurt and mixed it with my BFF - PB2 to make peanut butter yogurt! Sounds weird, right? It was good, though. To make it even better, I crumbled a Weight Watchers Peanut Butter Cookie over the top...

Wow, 3 POINTS of PB heaven!

The husband and daughters devised an evil plot to get their pizza that I deprived them of last night! It was decided that we should go out for dinner and of course, they chose Bertucci's, which is an incredible brick oven pizzeria and Italian restaurant! This place is hard to be in; even though it is a chain -type restaurant, everything is so delicious. But, the item that is the toughest for me is this...

These dough ball rolls are right up there with brownies in the temptation department! They are served with a dish of flavored olive oil for dipping! Evil, evil, evil!!!!! So, I tried to be a good Weight Watcher and moved the rolls and the dipping oil to the other end of the table. I allowed myself one of these rolls, but I waited until the server brought my salad with fat free Chianti dressing until I dug into this doughy goodness...

Along with my salad, I ordered a cup of the Tuscan Minestrone Soup which was delicious and warmed my stomach on this cold, cold night...

I did break off another bite of roll, but didn't eat any of the pizza that was swirling around me! Whew, glad that we got out of there before any damage was done! It's a little rough going out to eat, especially when I knew that I used most of my Weekly Allowance POINTS yesterday on that mindless after lunch snacking. Overall, I was happy with my choices tonight. I have to understand that everything I ate was delicious AND good for me, even if it wasn't what I would have eaten "in the old days" (i.e. giant calzones, heavy pasta dishes, way more than one roll!). As a matter of fact, I commented to the husband on the ride home, that I couldn't imagine eating or ordering the menu items that I used to when we went there. I could almost remember the "after feeling". You know, like that stuffed and lethargic just want to lie down feeling. Again, I acknowledged my progress in this journey of trying to eat healthy! Cool!

When we got home, we played a little Wii bowling and tennis, then I had some dessert. It got away from me last night, but no way can I go 2 nights without some!!! I continued on with my peanut butter craving and had my usual dessert, Deep Chocolate Vitatop with PB2/Fluff icing. This was the last of my PB2 (sniff, sniff), but I have some on order. Can't live without the stuff, now...

The husband brought the remainder of the daughters' pizza home and one of those doughy devils home. I am using Angie's trick right now of imagining that it fell in the toilet!!! LOL! Hey, we gotta do what we gotta do to stay outta trouble!

Hope you're all staying out of trouble, too! I know, I'm NO FUN...

Anxiety

I've been a bit anxious today because tomorrow morning is my 1st "official" BLBE weigh-in!! Aaaahh!! My teammates have had a spectacular start! I have had some ups and downs with my eating, but all in all I have stayed within my alloted POINTS. I did end up using all of my Weekly Allowance POINTS, so we'll see how that all pans out tomorrow.

I tried to focus on lots of fruits and veggies today. I started the morning with a good 45 min. elliptical workout and then a nice hot breakfast. I made a serving of Whole Grain Cream of Wheat made with water and topped with 3 oz. blueberries and 1/2 banana. Yummy...

Breakfast held me pretty well. I ended up having a late lunch of 2 tbsp. hummus, 1 tbsp. Trader Joe's Red Pepper Spread on an Arnold Sandwich Thin with a handful of baby spinach. This was an amazing combo!! Definitely on my "repeat" list! On the side, I had a HUGE orange...

Sooo juicy and sweet, not to mention pretty and packed with Vitamin C...

For my snack, I couldn't help myself, I HAD to try the other Kashi Fruit and Grain Bar flavor that I bought - Raspberry Chocolate...

OMG, this is by far THE BEST granola bar I have ever had! Good for you and a nice chocolate fix for 2 POINTS!!! These are keepers for sure :)
The rest of the afternoon was crazy and basically spent in and out of the car schlepping the daughters. I didn't really have a spectacular dinner plan for tonight; the husband was working and the daughters opted for different things from the freezer. A-O.K. with me! I was in the mood for a salad. I searched around the fridge/freezer for a topping for it and I finally settled on it being a Cheeseburger Salad! I used giant handfuls of lettuce, chopped tomatoes, 1 oz. Cabot's 75% Reduced Fat Cheddar and a Boca Burger that I micro'd and crumbled on top. For dressing I used 2 tbsp. Kraft Light Three Cheese Ranch and about 2 tsp. ketchup! Sounds strange, but it tasted great - just like a chopped up burger without the bun! It would have been awesome with some bacon crumbled in there, too! Next time...

I had some dessert tonight. Suprise, surprise ;) A decadent, potentially dangerous, Weight Watchers Peanut Butter Cookie topped with 1/2 tbsp. Nutella ...

So, I'm off to bed! I will spend a few minutes "visualizing" a wonderful weigh-in that I can be proud of tomorrow! Then, I will pray :) Is it obvious that I have a scale phobia????? Add that to the "therapy list" =)
