Let The Games Begin

Well, The Biggest Loser was stinkaroo last night, don't ya think? Could they have dragged it out any longer? I mean, c'mon THREE hours is too long. And then there were the less than fantastic transformations. That was disappointing. I felt badly for Tara that she didn't win, but she is still a winner in the fact that she can now live the life she wants and feel good about herself. I'm not sure how I feel about Helen. She looks good, though. And Jerry did an amazing job for himself, not to mention Mike, too! Now to wait for next season! Anyone catch when that is supposed to start?

It was another fantastic morning of sun, so I thought a run was in order. I had a million errands to take care of, so I decided to eat breakfast before my run. I went with a Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin (these are whole wheat -from TJ's) with PB2 for 3 POINTS...

I went for a run on a different trail this time. I decided to change not only the venue, but the workout, too. I ran for 1.5 miles, then fast walked mixed with 20 second hard-as-I- can- run sprints for the last mile. I know I look totally foolish doing this. The junk in the trunk is jiggling all over the place coupled with the fact that I am breathing like I am gasping for my last breaths. What is this all doing for me? I don't know. I "think" I am burning more calories. I hope I don't break my neck. I ended this dufus track meet with 30 tricep dips on a park bench.

After my olympic games, I did more running, but of the errand kind. I was all over the place and I started to get hungry, but really wanted to finish what I had to do. I decided to stop in the mini-Starbucks in Target and get a Tall Caramel Light Frappuccino(2 POINTS) to tie me over. It was good to the last drop...

I finally got home to make lunch and I was really ready. I used the leftover Barbeque Bean Salad and made 2 mini wraps with the small La Tortilla Factory Tortillas that are 50 calories each. Along with it, I had some yummy watermelon and a HALF serving of Sour Cream and Onion Rice Chips (yay, me!). A delish 6 POINT lunch...

Mmmm....this bean salad was even better today...

Then, it was off to afterschool activities and volunteering at church. I knew I would be home later, so I grabbed another Gnu bar. This chocolate brownie flavor was pretty good, but not my favorite! I can't believe it! My favorites were (in order of yumminess):

  • Peanut Butter
  • Banana Walnut
  • Cinnamon Raisin
  • Orange Cranberry
  • Chocolate Brownie

I will definitely order these online so I can get the flavors I like best. My TJ's only carries the Cinnamon Raisin and Orange Cranberry. Can't beat a 2 POINT bar with 12 grams of fiber...

When I got home, I whipped up an easy dinner of Perdue Baked Chicken Tenderloins with a side of Gram's green beans for 5 POINTS...

I ended the night with some Banana Split Froyo for 2 POINTS...

and a couple of .... you guessed it...chocolate covered almonds! I should throw them away. They are evil. I am requesting that God make an ammendment to the 10 Commandments to include #11 - Thou shalt not buy nor eat chocolate covered almonds. Although, that may not completely work as a deterrent for me. Ugh, burn, baby, burn...

Oh well. My goal...goal...goal tomorrow is to NOT eat those flippin things. I gotta stop playing these head games with myself and just buckle down and finish this!

Have a great night everyone!

BL - I was kinda glad Helen won. I'm not sure why, but something about Tara bugged me. Jerry = amazing.

As usual your food looked great. I would never have thought to put bean salad in a wrap but I will keep that in mind.

I'm going to order some PB2 tonight, I've got to try it.

I agree with MoraPiggy, I was glad Helen won, something about Tara bugged me too. I'm happy for Mike. And really, I thought the idea of choosing a contestant for next season was ok, but the contestants were so similar how could anyone make a choice!
Thanks for all the effort you put into this, I do get inspiration and good ideas from you.

I liked biggest loser so much better back in the first seasons when the spisodes were short. i can't even watch it any more. Too much filler. Plus, i don't like having to commit that much time to one show. there's other stuff on!

Love the idea of the bean salad in the wrap. My husband hates white beans, but i may may some soon anyway.

I didn't want Helen to win.. remember she was the one who cost Tara $10,000 by eating the donut? and I agree.. way too long.
I also didn't like the voting for the next contestant- I mean how do you choose when you know so little about either one.

I almost bought the chocolate covered almonds at TJ's today. But then I remembered that you wrote that they were very good, so I didn't as I thought they may turn into a problem... I was very proud of myself. But I REALLY would like a few right now... :o)

omg everything about this post is SOOO RIGHT!!! First of all, the two smaller wraps is ingenious! That would be totally up my alley!! And then you have my favorite flavor of Mr.Krispers in the entire world! Those are SO SO GOOD!!!!!

I totally agree that chocolate covered almonds are sinful. hahaha They're really addictive, but its great you can stop at a couple. :) GOod for you!!!!

I agree with you on the BL last night - way too long and drawn out. And I am a total fan of the show and it was too much!

I saw on Extra today that Tara might be dating Mike now - hmmmm, I somehow wouldn't want his dad as my father in law LOL.

Great eats and good job on your run!

Give your husband the chocolate covered almonds, leave the room and have him hide them to where you cannot find them. You can't be tempted by what isn't there, right? :)

I haven't seen the biggest loser yet, but my roommate tells me it is unrealistic that these people can keep up that kind of lifestyle after they leave the show.
Did you cramp up eating before you ran? The food looks great. I love English Muffins.

I loved Jerry. He was just too darn cute with that huge smile. Very proud of him! I'm kind of mixed up about Helen. I thought she looked ill. I felt bad for Tara because you could see the disappointment on her face. I really felt bad for Helen's daughter and Dan's friend (can't remember his name). But you gotta love Jerry!

Sounds like you had a crazy busy day.

If I can't keep my hands out of something, I toss them. It makes my kids so mad but for me, it's not wort having them around if I keep snacking on them. I believe you've been doing this long enough to keep your head up and have more will power than I do though! I can't wait until you post about getting to goal!

Marissa,

Was thinking of you this morning as I begin to get ready to go do that nasty thing they call clothes shopping. LOL!!
A girl I lift with, who loves to shop, offered to help me find some clothes. I will keep you posted on how it turns out. Maybe I will bring my daugthers camera with and snap some shops.
I will keep you posted.

I'm still a big Tara fan. Helen did not look good to me at all. And Jerry really surprised me.

I didn't get my frap yesterday! guess I'll have to make one today.

Congrats on that super trail run. Sprints sound fun. So funny but after I had gained quite a bit of weight I tried to race my son to the car. I hadn't run in a LONG time and in my mind I could still run fast. I took off and was mocing as fast as I could but wasn't getting anywhere. I almost fell on my face. haha Reality check. Getting better now though.

You're munchies always look so good. I could go for one of those chicken strips right now.

I also agree w/ you on biggest loser. I wanted Tara to win, followed by Mike, then Helen. Did you know that Helen weighed 117 and is 5'6"?? Wow, just wow!! And yes, 3 hours is TOO MUCH!

I have the same problem w/ chocolate covered almonds. You try to eat one serving but it's too good and you keep snacking on them!!

I thought Helen looked good but I also think that she's getting a little too thin, especially in the face, it's making her look older. But the biceps, go girl!! I felt bad for mike though, knowing that if you lost 5 more pounds. I mean he's already won but..

I agree with Bostonred-who cares which girl got through, they both seem the same. Same hair, same size etc. I was waiting for them to announce that Max was going to go, but I don't think he can because of his age.

Marisa if I ever get rich enough to have a personal chef, please apply. I want to eat your food everyday.

ps I was glad I recorded it and watched it later...we watched the whole thing in 1.5 hours and could skip over the contestant selection, and the looking back at the top 3!! geesh that was a bit over the top. Allison looked FAB too

I DVR's BL, so I watched the entire thing in about 45 minutes. If I didnt have a DVR, I probably would give up on the show, because it's gotten too long and too drawn out.

I thought that Helen looked sickly, I still cant get over that she let her daughter go home. I am a huge fan of Tara though, probably because I started out only 11 lbs more than her and am also tall, so she's sort of a weight loss icon for me :)

The wrap looks delic!

I think BL was waay too long. Matter of fact, I'm glad I recorded it cause I fell asleep. I watch the ending of it yesterday. I agree with some of the other post... There was something about Tara that bothered me. I didn't want her to win but I did feel bad for her at the end. When her loss of 155 came up, they didn't even talk to her and say good job.. Helen started screaming and jumping up and down and Tara was kind of left on the scale with this "really", "seriously" look and slowly stepped down. I didn't think she deserved that nor did I want Helen to win. I was hoping Mike would win. Oh well, hopefully next season will be better. :)

I totally agree that 3 hours was WAY too long - which is why I fast forwarded a lot of it!

I don't think the next season starts until the summer - I couldn't find anything on the NBC website, other than callbacks are in June for contestants.

I love PB2!
