Thanks for your comments on my last post; sad to see many of you are like me and don’t take time to “just be”! We have to work at that, right?!!
There was no time to “just be” in the morning either! For some reason, it started off rush, rush, rush! Before I ran out the door to take little daughter to school, I made up my Yogurt Bowl. Many of you have asked about making the fruit “syrup”, so here’s a look…
Slice a few (about 3-4) strawberries and place in a microwave safe bowl…
Microwave for 30 sec.- 1 min. (depending on fruit ) until it appears “cooked” and the juice releases…
That’s it! Couldn’t be easier! You could do it stovetop also in a bigger batch, refrigerate and add to yogurt (or top ice cream, mmmm) as needed.
I poured my strawberry syrup over the remainder of my Chobani nonfat plain yogurt, added more fresh berries and sprinkled with a bit of Post Trail Mix Crunch…
then ran out the door with my ginormous container to eat in the car… at red lights and stop signs, MOM!!!
I finished most of it just as I was pulling in to the gym. I wasn’t that hungry, so I left the rest and headed in to get my sweat on with one of my new LIFE IS GOOD shirts…
Gotta love that! There’s also a cool tag at the bottom of the shirt…
Okay, enough of my dopey wardrobe! Anyway, I hit the elliptical for 40 minutes while watching my boyfriend, Dr. Oz and his new show which was quite steamy (sex ed) I might add! Then, he did some dance which made me love him even more!
I tore myself away from the tv’s and did a 25 minute lower body circuit weight workout. I love the leg press; makes me feel like a brute!
After a stop at the produce store, I headed home and was ready for lunch! I got hungry earlier than usual, probably because I didn’t eat enough at breakfast. But, my stomach was telling me that I couldn’t put it off any longer. I broke open one of these Cedar Lane Bean ,Rice and Cheese Burritos. I’ve showed these before, but it’s been a while…
They are really good and filling! I wolfed it down with a side of leftover sweet potato fries and a fuji apple…
Yes, WOLFED. As in here one minute, gone the next. That was NOT mindful eating!!! And then, I knew it was coming. Because I didn’t pay much attention to the eating process, I still wanted to munch away. And I did…on these guys…
x about 55!! Ugh! I knew I was doing it and WHY, so I guess that’s part of the process of learning to STOP it next time.
Believe it or not, I was hungry again later when the daughters came home. I’ve been eyeing this Pecan Sticky Bun Granola up (why do I buy these things?!)
so I had a small bowl with skim milk…
Dinner was nothing fancy, but I’ll call it Pasta Pesto Primavera! I made some Ronzoni Smart Taste Rotini Pasta, mixed it with a little pesto and a box of Green Giant Immune Blend Veggies…
finished with some Parmesan cheese…
Quick and easy!
And later, I may or may not have had a little bit of this…
Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. I did not have that; I don’t know who is writing this right now!!! ;P
ONE GOOD THING: I recognized why I pigged out after lunch, so that I can try to prevent that next time :)
*I took 5 minutes right before bed to “just be”, but I think I fell asleep about 2 minutes into it! Does that count???*
Have a great day everyone!

Heh....that t-shirt is cute!
I like the clothes too! And even though you said that pasta was nothing fancy - I think it looked wonderful!
I just loved the shirt that you were wearing.
I was wondering do you drink water through out the day? I can't remember if I ever seen pictures or if you have written about it.
Have a great day.
your strawberry syrup looks like a good recipe for a cookbook :)
Just sayin'
Love the t-shirt! :)
It's so hard to be mindful when you are really hungry... And not being mindful makes such a difference... Happened to me yesterday too... But you are so right, we learned something! :)
I had to quit buying that Sticky Bun cereal; I'd find myself pouring it in my mouth like it was water. Not so good.
oK- can not find that yogurt, I need to try 2 more stores closer by to me. :(
Love the tee shirt- I have one that has a lil red bike and says THATS HOW I ROLL :)
My local store stopped carrying that immunity blend!GGRRR I make kinda the same dish but an easy version-add it to a frozen lean cuisine or WW meal- whatever pasta dish you chose. Thats a night off for me-with the added veggies! :)
I want those crackers...welll I want cheez-its, not your version...I could eat a whole box of them in a blink of an eye! hehe Guess thats why I dont buy them lol
That T-shirt is SO cute! I love s'mores! And your pasta looks yummy. I'm going to make a pasta salad this weekend! I can't wait! (That's my thing, I typically make a big batch of something on Sunday, and then separate it into individual portions for the week.)
Don't be yourself up Marisa. You did pretty good. Maybe b/c you worked out, you felt the hunger. Eat a piece of fruit afterwards or grab a larabar. Then eat lunch, then dinner. That may help with cutting down snacks.
oh, that pasta looks so delicious!! sounds like you had a really great workout so your body probably needed some extra fuel!
i think your eats look GORGEOUS and really varied and colourful! DOnt be too hard on yourself lovely! x
The pictures are so helpful. It shows that healthy food can look delicious. I enjoy your blog and it motivates me.
i have got to find a giant chobani tub! its ok, i eat and drive :D that shirt is great!
Dutch - Yes, I do drink TONS of water! It's always been my favorite choice of drink; I'm not much for sodas/ice teas and the like. And because I drink tons, I know where every bathroom is in my tri-state area ;D.
TJ - I HAVE TO FIND THAT SHIRT!!!
Thanks for your comments, everyone!
what a great day of eats - INCLUDING the ice cream that "someone" ate
Hello Marisa! I am new to commenting :-) Am really enjoying your blog (discovered it about a week ago).
Oh, that Sticky Bun granola! My parents had some of that at their house this summer and there is NO WAY I am buyin' it. Too yummy - it would probably last less then 24 hours LOL.
Love your Life is Good t-shirt. I have one of their hats.
Smiling at the tub of yogurt plus mix in on-the-go trick. I do that all the time. The big tub is perfect for adding tons of fruits and other mix-ins.
The shirt you are sporting is cute.
how you seen the LIFE IS CRAP line of stuff?
Im a total child but it cracks me up---especially the DIET ONES.
