No Labor Day

Happy Labor Day!  It’s a little bittersweet as it represents the last day of summer since the daughters go back to school tomorrow :(  We’ve had a fun summer, lots of great and relaxing times, but I think they are looking forward to school activities and seeing their friends.

It’s been an easy “no labor” day for me, other than making some eats for our afternoon picnic at my niece’s house.  The labor begins now, getting everyone ready for the big day tomorrow, so I’ll leave you with a photo montage of some yummy eats today…

Breakfast:  egg white scramble with spinach, ham and 2% cheese…

It was just right!  So, there’s the food porn for the day!  I hope you all had a great day!

I’m off to get the daughters tucked in, but before I go…

ONE GOOD THING :  I did not get the “after party” munchies when I got home from the picnic.  I ate what I wanted at the picnic;  ate until I felt satisfied and even got in a little taste of a brownie – my all time favorite!! But, a little taste was enough.  It tasted great and I told myself I could have more if I wanted to, but I felt good with what I had eaten and knew it was all I needed.  And because I tasted everything I felt I wanted, no feeling deprived tonight when I came home!  What a feeling!!!

What ONE GOOD THING happened for you this weekend?

My one good thing for the week has to be getting back into the groove with exercise. Here's why....

1. When I exercise, I make better choices with food.
2. I feel better.
3. I'm happier.
4. I have more energy.

It's like it all comes full circle. This was the kid's first week of school, and I was able to take time for ME for a change. I chose to spend that time running. :)

I would not have been able to survive that dessert table. Everything look so good. The PB cake would have been my downfall for sure.

My one good thing...
Despite eating all of the wrong things this weekend, I never allowed myself to get stuffed or too full.

Great food pics! Sounds like you did awesome at the picnic & afterward! Great job!

One good thing that happened to me: tough times really show you who your true friends are; I have some awesome friends & I am very thankful!

I actually have two- first was getting in some really good walking time this weekend, and second would be finding some high fiber , low far complete pancake mix so I can make a big batch of healthy toaster waffles for the freezer. Healthy and money saving are two very good things !

Great food pics! Love that you enjoyed all of the food you ate-but also did not deprive yourself of some treats! :)

My one good thing for the week is I stuck to my goasl and planned out, in advance, my workouts.

Wow, that is some spread! But look at you - you're amazing! Look at that bowl of fruit with a "taste" of brownie. Something to remember for myself...
My one good thing - that I didn't eat everything in my kitchen today, lol! I've been on a snacking rampage, probably due to stress. But I stopped, and I'm going to the gym tonight, and tomorrow is another day.
