Tired

Why can't being fat be the standard for health? Okay, you can see where this post is going, so if you're not in the mood for listening to a bunch of cranky behavior, then you can come back tomorrow when I'm sure I'll be a lot better ;) Seriously, how I long for those days when Rubenesque women were sought after and idolized! I am just tired today. Not in a sleep deprived way, but an eating and lifestyle way. I'm tired of trying so hard. I'm tired of spending every waking moment watching what I eat. I'm tired of counting POINTS and calories. I'm tired of exercising like a nut (hear that Jillian! * notice I did not scream it for fear that she may hear me and make a house call to kick my butt in person!!) I'm tired of looking at my body and not really "seeing" the changes. I'm tired of wearing the same clothes over and over because I don't want to spend the money to invest in clothing that I may not be able to wear in a few months. Ugh. Why can't fat be "hot"?? Like, hey, look at her big bumpy cellulite - she's hot! Why can't eating 5-9 servings of cheese and bread be the health requirement instead of fruits and vegetables??!! *sigh* I know why. I just wish this wasn't so hard sometimes. Alright, enough with the belly-aching, here's the food...

This morning, after a 40 minute run outside and a Level 1 Shred, I was in the mood for something different, so I made a Banana PB2 Smoothie with 1/2 banana, 2 tbsp. PB2, 3/4 c. unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze and a bunch of ice cubes. Yummy, frosty and 3 POINTS...

Lunch was a little earlier than usual; the smoothie only lasted so long! I made a turkey hummus wrap using 2 oz. turkey, 1 tbsp. hummus, lettuce and tomato rolled in a La Tortilla Factory Smart and Delicious Wrap (3 POINTS). I had a side of carrots and instead of my usual chips, I went with a Fiber One Vanilla Yogurt with 1/2 of a Kashi Pumpkin Spice Flax Granola Bar that I crumbled and mixed in (that was great!). A delicious 5 POINT lunch...

For snack, I went with Kashi Honey Sunshine Cereal. I have been dying to try this. I have seen it on many blogs, most recently on my girl, Heather's blog. This cereal ROCKS! I had it with 1 c. unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze and 1/2 c. blueberries for 3 POINTS...

After snack time, I went outside with little daughter and jumped on the trampoline for 30 minutes! Whoa, that is some workout - I was huffing and puffing! No wonder my kids are so skinny!

Dinner tonight was a good use of leftover chicken : chicken and broccoli stirfry over ramen noodles. The look on the husband and daughters faces when I told them what we were having showed me this would be a tough sell.

Me : You guys, it's the leftover chicken from last night that you loved and I just mixed it some broccoli...

LD: Eeew. I hate this.

Husband: Girls, hasn't Mom been great lately? She has been making all the things we like; now we have to eat what she wants tonight (uh, thanks??)

BD: Oooh, I love this dinner, Mom! (have I said that she is my favorite daughter???)

Anyway, they choked it down (except for little daughter who worked her Dad over for a pb&j). I thought it was delicious! Sorry you won't be able to tell by this terrible pic that is oddly bright and could possibly burn your retinas when you look at it; don't know what's up with my "dinnertime lighting"...

Here is the package of ramen noodles that I used. I forgot to get the nutritionals for you, but I know that the whole package is only 5 POINTS since they are baked not fried. I used one package for the 4 of us. My portion of dinner came to 8 POINTS...

So, if you stayed to listen to my crabbyness - thanks for hangin with me! I got in this funk today after a) getting on the scale and not liking what I saw, b) taking a gander at my body and not liking what I saw and c) being sick of the food I have been eating - I think I may need to change something up - not sure what though . Guess these days happen. I plan on snapping out of it; what choice do I have, right?? Complaining about it isn't going to make anything happen any faster or better. Just gotta keep on keeping on...

Looking forward to Biggest Loser tonight! See ya tomorrow =]

When I read the first line I knew this was going to be a good post. I could have written most of that, I know right where you are. But overall you are doing so awesome. This is one of my favorite and most motivational blogs to read (and the one that makes me hungry the most). Enjoy Biggest Loser, call it a night and you'll be raring to go tomorrow. : )

Hi,
I've NEVER seen these particular ramen noodles. Where did you purchase these?

Awwww hun, I think we all feel this way from time to time. It gets frustrating I've been there!! I know you'll get over the hump but if you have to be crabby feel free that's what were here for!! : D

So where do you find your unsweetened almond breeze? I looked for the stuff and can only find original...

Awh, we get that feeling from time to time. But keep your chin up.
And your husband is awesome! So sweet of him, and your daughter is awesome too! LOL!!!

I'm actually watching biggest loser right now! :) Anyway, hang in there... It will come off and being healthy is really important (for energy, longevity, etc.) no matter what your weight is.

I'm beginning to wonder if we should just cancel Tuesdays (until primetime tv starts, of course). It seems to have been a lousy day for FAR too many of us! Hope you snap out of it, too ... I know I've been struggling with it myself but I THINK I'm almost in a better mood :)

Hang in there ! It seems ever since joining this challenge my scale has not liked me, and I have not liked it. It is incredibly frustrating, but the speed of our progress is happening for reasons a lot more important than the idea that we want it now .You are doing the best things for your overall health and you are setting a great example for your family. That in itself is worth so much more than just a number.

For a new level of frustration, check out my blog.

When we're out to eat or I cook something Kent and I want to dive into until we're in a food coma, we look at eat other and say, "I'm OK with being fat....let's not count Points anymore!". lol It's so difficult to stay focused during pissy moments, bad days (or weeks or months or years), when trigger foods are around, when I'm PMS'y, after my sister calls me etc. Sometimes, it just needs to be "legal" to be unhealthy and 80+ pounds overweight. This has been a very trying week for me as well. I'm feeling your pain! :)

Wow, I never saw those type of ramen noodles. That's a really good idea!!

Don't worry about the scale too. #1, it's not your normal WI day. #2, you have been working out really hard so that could also affect the numbers. Keep your chin up!

Wow, thanks for the pep talk, guys! You are all so awesome!

Dwana- I got them at my local Safeway; the brand is called Choice(I think).

Melissa- I found the unsweetened Almond Breeze at Trader Joes, but have seen it in many local grocery stores.
