The morning started off with a rush to get to an early church service. I didn't have time to work out, just a quick shower and dress for church. Breakfast was a grab and go, but one that was yummy! My Weight Watchers rep pal, Lyndsay, sent me a coupon to try these Banana Nut Muffins ...
This was the perfect morning to try them since I was in a hurry. I was pleasantly surprised to see these were a good sized muffin!
I really enjoyed this guy! It had a great banana flavor and was studded with just a few, very small chopped walnuts which is o.k. with me. I'm all about the banana anyway!! Each muffin had 180 cal., 3.5 gr. fat and 6 gr. fiber, so they are 3 POINTS each. Not too bad considering the size...
After church, I spent the rest of the morning(and early afternoon) prepping for Easter dinner. I took a break for lunch. I debated on eating light due to the food fest that was to come, but then decided to have a normal lunch so that I wouldn't be tempted to overeat later. Uh, THAT plan got blown out of the water! Anyway, here's lunch...
Trader Joe's most amazingly delicious Organic Lentil Vegetable Soup (2 POINTS)...
Homemade White Bean Hummus, baby spinach and tomato on FlTrader Joe's Sprouted Flourless Wheat Bread (4 POINTS) and carrots...
My parents and Gram came to Easter dinner for which they brought most of the dishes!! They are much better cooks than I am anyway!! Okay, here goes.... (FYI - the "counting" stopped here)

Mozzarella and Proscuitto roll with homemade wine biscuit crackers -I ate about 10 of these little crackers :-0 ...
Marinated mozzarella balls and sundried tomatoes...
Four dozen Taluto's Cheese Ravioli with homemade marinara sauce...
I wasn't going to have any, but then two ended up in my bowl ;)
Broccoli with garlic and olive oil...
My piece of the pie :) and a baklava bite( x2)...
There you have it - gluttony at its finest! All that food was for a massive party of 7 people!! Uh, two of which are kids that eat like birds. I think I will total my day at about 150 POINTS - sound about right???!!! Well, I'll say what I always say.... there's always tomorrow!!!

Spiral sliced ham (I made a half ham but only plated some), proscuitto wrapped asparagus with seasoned breadcrumbs and parmesan, Gram's chicken roll (stuffed with ham, frittata, carrots and olives- this was a childhood favorite of mine)...
Stuffed Veal Roast (same stuffing as chicken roll)...
Baaaaaaa chops...

I also ate a slice of Italian bread and another slice of ham!!! Then another 1/2 slice of bread while clearing the dishes -aaaaack!
After the dishes were done, it was time for dessert. Sorry, did I make you gag just thinking about it??? Yeah, but we HAVE to have dessert!!!!!!
Mom made a delicious "traditional" ricotta pie and brought some baklava treats...

I'm off to unbutton my pants to allow my stomach to spread out in all its flubby glory. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday =)

you may think it was gluttony...but i bet it was good. :P
Oh my gosh, super delicious! Those raviolis are lookin' good.
Haha, love your post title. I felt the same way after my Easter brunch today, but I wouldn't change it for the world :o) I think you're right that it's rooted in tradition and some things just can't (and shouldn't!) change! Everything looks amazing! Happy Easter!
Oh My!!! Can I come to YOUR house next Easter? ;)
Those muffins look yummy!
Don't worry about the food, it is only one day!
Holy smokes! That was some major food porn! It all looked so beautiful and so good. Baklava? My fave. My jaw about dropped when I saw the proscuitto and mozzarella roll ups. It's going to take a while to get the drool off of the computer keyboard.
Looks like you had a tasty day. :)
I was all about the gluttony yesterday too. I like your food better though!
Those muffins look so good. And only 180 cals?!
wow! thats a lot of food!
I'll have to give those muffins a try. I've been annoyed by the size of ww products in the past, but those actually look decent.
everything looks so delicious! i pigged out yesterday too but hey, it's a holiday, right? i think you did pretty well actually!!! you could have eaten that whole huge serving bowl of raviolis :)
now, that might have been overkill!!

Vickie- Yes! You and your entire neighborhood; Lord knows we have enough food - lol!
UKAngie - yep, I'm lettin it go...
Kelly - Baklava is AWESOME!
TJ - and they are pretty large muffins, too!
Amanda - LOL!! Yeah, we are ON PLAN today!!!
Diet Diva - thanks!!!
Lk-HealthyDelicious - I was surprised at the size, too! Made it worth the 3 POINTS. Most muffins that large, you only get to eat half. Who eats half a muffin???!!!
katecooks - yeah, thankfully the husband is the one who eats the whole bowl of ravs, so I was safe on that one! lol!
Hi - just wanted to comment that I truly don't think that was gluttonous at all! You did a GREAT job of just taking small portions. I would not have been able to stop at just one small sliver of desert! You should be proud - most people go much more crazy on holidays
