No Fooling - It's A Larabar Giveaway!

My scale is roadkill. I have run over it with my vehicle until it resembled something like a smashed aluminum can. Okay, daydream over. But, it was a lovely thought. As you can guess, the scale was not my friend this morning. I got on and sirens wailed and red lights flashed, warning of self-destruction. No fooling that thing. You can fool yourself but, the scale will always yank you back into reality. The reality is that the whole 80/20 rule that I seem to be unintentionally practicing lately, is not working. If you do the program 80% of the time, but the other 20%, you are shoveling cookies, snacks and chocolate, it's gonna catch up with you. No doubt about it. Exercise, schmexercise. If you don't eat right, you will not lose weight. I spent the morning giving myself this lecture and, well, throwing a pity party, too. You know the drill, you've heard me crying about it in many other posts. So, *in my best Forrest Gump voice* that's all I have to say about that :D

Breakfast was a repeat of the other day: smoked salmon with Laughing Cow Light on a Thomas' Light English Muffin for 3 POINTS...

More cheesiness for lunch. I was dying for a good old grilled cheese! I made one using 2 slices of Arnold Natural Whole Grain White Bread and a slice of American and a slice of Asiago. I paired it with some sweet cherries for a quick 7 POINT lunch...

After lunch, I headed to Trader Joe's to pick up a couple of things. While I was there, I noticed they had all of my favorite Larabar flavors! I eyed up the Peanut Butter Cookie right away and broke into that as soon as I got home...

A most delicious 4 POINT snack!

I chilled out with the daughters this afternoon, then made some dinner. Pepperoni and Cheese Strombolis (made with whole wheat crust) and orzo soup for them and eggplant for me! I love the Dominex Eggplant Cutlets and since I had some left in the freezer stash, I thought it would make a good dinner tonight. I topped them with a bit of light mozzarella. Plain, simple and delish. I went with some watermelon slices for a light tasting 7 POINT dinner...

No dessert tonight. I'm full. Of fat. That's all I have to say about that.

So, since TJ's had only my favorite Larabar flavors (Cherry Pie, Apple Pie, Cashew Cookie and Peanut Butter Cookie), I thought I would get them all to giveaway to one lucky winner!!!!!

All you need to do is leave me a comment with this post telling me which flavor you would like to try. One winner will get all 4 of my faves! I'll choose the winner, using random.org, on Thurs. June 4. Be sure to check back Thurs. night when I'll announce the winner. Open to all, since I'm doing the shipping :) Good luck!!!!

OMG this is funny... did you read my post today about Larabars??

We don't have the peanut butter one, or I totally would have grabbed that first to try.

Cashew Cookie sounds really really good.

As LK said don't be too hard on yourself - you are human and we do all make mistakes. The best thing you can do is brush yourself off and keep pushing forward - no look backs no regrets no woulda coulda shouldas - move forward towards your goal and get those last pounds off.

Wish I was as close as you are - but I too WILL get there.

Never tried the cashew cookie -- it sounds super good

I know how you feel about the scale. Apparently I must have step on the same one, b/c I had to throw myself a pity party this morning too.

OK, Larabar choice...

Since I'm always trying to find a way to satisfy my PB craving. I'd love to try the Peanut Butter.

I'd like to run over my scale too!

The cherry pie Larabar sounds good to me.

I've been so glad I've found your blog! I've read other weight-loss journeys where people don't admit to doing anything wrong or that they feel crappy. You are keeping it real and like others have said - take it easy on yourself and know that you are putting forth the effort which is the most important thing.

I love Larabars. Probably too much. My favorites are Key Lime and Cherry Pie.

I like your scale daydream... :) But seriously, the scale will be your friend again soon!

The pictures of the smoked salmon English muffin made me put smoked salmon on my shopping list! Your breakfast looks soooo good!

I have never tried the Apple Pie Larabar, so I'd love to try it. :)

Oh my gosh Marisa, I would love to try the apple pie!!!!

Nicci said...

oh! I think I would like to try all these flavors but especially the Cashew cookie. I haven't seen that on in the store before! YUMMY!

CookiePie said...

I have never met a Larabar I didn't like! But a favorite? It has to be either the chocolate one with the cinnamon and chile, or the coconut cookie. Or the cashew cookie. Or the ginger snap. Or the peanut butter cookie. Or... :)

Skeletor's Mommy said...

Sweet! I've only ever tried apple pie. Cherry pie sounds AMAZING right now.

p.s. Don't spend too much time beating yourself up about the 20% and give yourself a pat on the back for 80%. It's not perfect, but it's sure better than not trying at all. :)

Kari@Onederland said...

Girl I'm afraid I might hear those sirens wailing on Thursday when I step on the scale after not weighing myself for a month. We shall see.
Those cherries look deelish.

And I'd have to say that I'd LOVE to try the peanut butter cookie larabar. I haven't seen that one in the stores yet. yum yum.

I would like to try them ALL because I am British and we do not have them over here and you lot over there bang on about them incessantly! I am missing OUT!!!!! :)

Thank you for sharing your real-life trials and tribulations. It is hard to lose weight. I've done it before, got way below goal and gained some back -- and am struggling mightily to get it off again. You are an inspiration, trust me!
So you mean to tell me there's a safe way to allow cashews in my life???? I would surely like to try that flavor.
Keep up the good work!

Cashew or peanut butter? Peanut butter or cashew? I really can't make a decision this early!

Here. *throwing scale*

Run over mine while you're at it. Grrr!!

Anonymous said...

I would love to try ANY of them! Since you've been posting them I've been trying to find them and none of the stores around where I live sell them! And the same with the Gnu (?) Bars. I've looked for them and can't find them!

And don't be hard on yourself. The body is an amazing thing and you could just be stressing too much about it, which could cause the gain...chin up!

hi-I am a fellow WW member and share the same struggles as you. I wish I had the cherry pie bar right now....

I totally want to try the Cherry Pie. I LOVE cherries. Your lunch totally has me drooling :)

You are so right about excercising not being enough. The more I am on this weight loss journey, the more I'm learning that what you eat is 75% of weight loss and working out is 25%. Yes working out will help you burn more calories, but what you put into yourself is so entirely important (note my entirely brown food day yesterday YIKES)!

If it makes you feel better to have company- the scale is not my friend this week either- and I have done everything right--UGHH! some days- but what can you do but keep trying? It will be better soon- at least it better!
I am torn between peanut butter and cherry pie-- peanut butter because it is my favorite flavor and cherry pie because it is summer and that sounds soo good!
Have a great day!
