When Bad Soup Happens

This is a story called When Bad Soup Happens to Good Weight Watchers. There was a girl who went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. While at the store, she happened upon some soup that came in a bag and just needed to cook for 15 min. with some water. She quickly grabbed the soup off the shelf (which was on sale!) and looked at the nutritional information. It was only 110 cal. for 1 cup which came to 2 Points. A good find! She bought the soup and rushed home to make it, as she was extremely hungry. The yogurt that she ate in the morning didn't last very long in her stomach and she was looking forward to this nice soup for lunch. She unpacked all of her groceries and began to boil the water for soup...

As she was watching the pot, waiting for it to boil which never happens when watched, she happened to turn to the nutritional information again. Then, a shocking thing happened. She noticed that for a measley one cup serving there was 870 mg. of sodium!!! Oh, the horror! She does not follow a low salt diet, but this was excessive, even for her. She knew that sodium would cause fluid retention in lake-like proportions! What a disappointment. She was in a quandry. Should she eat it or not? She decided she would not waste it, even though it may be to her detriment. It seemed like an eternity for this soup to finally be ready. Unfortunately, while it was taking it's sweet time to come together, she nibbled on pretzel sticks and a couple chips to quell her hunger. Along with the soup, she decided to have hummus spread on an Arnold Sandwich Thin...

She only liked half of this lunch. The soup was not good, at all. She only ate a few bites and was very disappointed and unsatisfied. She was about to make something else, but had to go about taking care of her little daughter that wasn't feeling well. Instead of preparing something else that was healthy and good tasting, she proceeded to pick on a bunch of junk including, Reese's peanut butter cups, Peanut M&M's and bread with butter. This disasterous meal caused her to feel sluggish and blah, therefore , she spent the rest of her afternoon watching The Santa Clause on the sofa with little daughter. She is already feeling a 10 lb. weight gain, however she decided to learn from her mistakes and leave this incident behind. She is very mature.
Moral of the story:
When in doubt, throw it out..... ;)

Oh Marisa! Even though your story was funny, it is oh so very sad! I'm sure you didn't do as much damage to your day as you think you did. Drink lots of water!

Ah yes, lots of soups are filled with the crazy salt for added flavor...
But it will clear up in no time. I'm sure you didn't hurt you too much!

Amanda -Thanks! It was sad :( I will avoid the scale for a few days and drink an Olympic size pool :)

Sharon - And can you believe that the ending instruction for making this soup was to season with SALT and pepper!!!!
